The 12th Annual Renaissance Regional Art Exhibit
Call for Entries

Applicable artists are over the age of 16 years old and reside in Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Louisiana or Virginia.
Awards include a $500 Juror’s Choice Award, $500 Excellence Award and Merit Awards of $250, plus a Gallery Purchase Award TBD. This year’s jury consists of Patricia P. Bladon Director of Development from the University of Memphis College of Communication & Fine Arts; Nashville arts writer and artist Matt Christy; and international painter Paul Lorenz from STUDIO mars in Paducah, KY.
To enter, please send the following:
- A CD with images or slides with a dot in the top right front corner.
- A $10 fee per image. Artists may enter a maximum of six (6) images.
- The completed application form (please print clearly!).
- SASE for the return of slides only. CDs and DVDs will not be returned.

2-D, 3-D and Video Art will be accepted. 2-D art must be ready to hang (framed with proper hanging wire). Video art must be in DVD format and playable on a standard DVD player. All entries must be original works by the entering artist and have been completed within the past 2 years.
Shipping of accepted artwork is the responsibility of the artist and will not be returned unless proper arrangements have been made. The Renaissance Center has the right to refuse any work felt unsuitable for display or misrepresented in the jury process. In addition, the Center will use slides and digital images for marketing purposes, giving credit to the artist.

Juror Bios:
Patricia P. Bladon has been Assistant Director and Curator of Collections and Education at Memphis Brooks Museum of Art during nearly twenty years. She has also served on the faculties of the University of Memphis, Rhodes College and Memphis College of Art. She has juried exhibitions for museums, galleries and universities throughout the Southeast and has been Director of Development for the University of Memphis’s College of Communication and Fine Arts since 2001. She is currently compiling research for the first book to be published since the 1970s on the preeminent painter Carroll Cloar.
Matt Christy graduated with a BFA from Watkins College of Art and Design in 2007. In addition to exhibiting his work at Twist Gallery and University of the South, Matt is an artist in residence with Gallery F in Nashville. In 2009 Matt was a Writing Workshop Recipient through the Warhol Foundation and he now writes for several publications including the Nashville Scene, Nos. (out of Memphis), and Rabbit.
Paul Lorenz studied painting at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the International School of Art in Italy, and the University of California, Berkeley. After winning a fifth place medal for painting at the Florence Biennale in 2001, Paul developed classes for the MFA program for the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. A member of Pintura Fresca, an international group of abstract painters, Paul exhibits his work worldwide and hosted conferences on abstraction at the 2007 and 2009 Florence Biennales.
