Private Instrumental/Vocal Lessons

Private instruction available in bagpipes, banjo, bass guitar, cello, clarinet, dobro, drums, dulcimer, flute, guitar (acoustic and electric), harmonica, mandolin, piano, saxophone, theory, viola, violin, and voice.
The instructor or music department must fill out a Private Music Lesson Contract before new or returning students may register for private lessons. The contract obligates students to commit to a semester of instruction. Lesson times depend on instructor availability with returning students receiving first priority. Tuition does not include an instrument or the price of books or music necessary for instruction. Performance opportunities are available with formal recitals occurring at the end of the semester.

Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM)
Upon instructor approval, private students have the option of participating in the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) testing and preparatory program based in England. This program tests at various levels of accomplishment, helping students achieve musical goals and attain knowledge preparing them for serious music study at the college level. Examiners travel from the UK to The Renaissance Center for testing sessions each semester. Students who pass all eight grades with honors perform at a level to compete for major scholarships at universities and conservatories.
