Renaissance Players set auditions, workshop for production of Children of Eden

The Renaissance Players will hold open auditions for a community production of Children of Eden Jan. 22 and 23 at The Renaissance Center in Dickson.
Auditions begin at 6 p.m. each evening in the center’s Performance Hall and no appointment is required. Anyone auditioning must have 16 measures of a song prepared with the sheet music in the appropriate key or a CD or tape, and dress for a dance/movement audition. Roles are open for men, women and around 10 children ages 6-15.
Children of Eden is a musical based on stories from the Book of Genesis written by Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Wicked) and John Caird (Les Miserables). The production is being directed by Hal Partlow, manager of the Renaissance Repertory Theatre Company and managing director of the Mind Enriching Theatre series at The Renaissance Center.
There will be a Mock Audition Workshop for Children of Eden 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20. Choreographer Bryan J. Wlas and musical director Nathan W. Brown will work with participants in going step by step through the audition process and assist in preparing for the singing and dancing auditions. Tuition for the workshop is $15.
The Renaissance Players will present Children of Eden March 23-April 1.
