Little Masters Exhibit Showing Through December
Release Date: 11/20/2001. Expired: 1/5/2002
Aspiring young painters will display their works beginning Dec. 6 in The Renaissance Center’s Visual Arts Gallery.
The Little Masters Art Exhibition is a display of artwork by local public school children. Participating students study the techniques and styles of the great masters such as Leonardo daVinci, Monet, Van Gogh, Warhol, O’Keeffe and others. In turn, the students produce original artwork representative of the great masters.
Art teachers at each school select the works to be on display in the Visual Arts Gallery throughout the holiday season.
“Sponsored by TriStar Bank in Dickson, the collection of artwork, ranging from grades K-12, is a tribute to the vast amount of upcoming talent in the region and also encourages children to become involved in the arts,” said Curtis Southerland, curator for the Visual Arts Gallery at The Renaissance Center. “There is a lot of raw talent here in this area, and we look forward to helping these children develop that talent and seeing their work progress.”
The exhibit opens Dec. 6 and runs through Jan 5. A reception will be held 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8.
