East Wing Gallery to display Garland Fulghum paintings Feb. 1-Mar. 31
Release Date: 1/6/2006. Expired: 3/31/2006
Ashland City resident Garland Fulghum will display paintings and drawings in the East Wing Gallery of The Renaissance Center in Dickson Feb. 1-March 31.
An opening reception for Fulghum’s exhibit will be 6-7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3.
Fulghum, operator of Garland and Sons Signs, has exhibited regionally in the Central South Art Exhibit and in international shows out west. He is a member of the Portrait Society of America.
“My philosophy is simple: convert the beauty of a fleeting image, be it real or imagined, into something that I hope someone else will enjoy,” Fulghum says. “We all get by with a little help from our friends. I’ve been fortunate enough to have friends who were trained as illustrators and others who are great painters in their own right offering wisdom and insight into the more fine areas of drawing and painting.
“I have enjoyed studying the masters through museums and books all of my life, thanks to traveling a good deal throughout my childhood.”
Fulghum’s paintings will be displayed in the East Wing Gallery Feb. 1-March 31. The Renaissance Center’s galleries are open 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Admission to the exhibit and opening reception is free.
